Kinda funny, muldaaaa, that you attach a ?! to 4.Dxd4 and at the same time say that it's the best.
?! means "doubtful move" you know

And just make some people here happy (or not) I doubt it's doubtful, thinking that that's a rather dubious word in the current context.

Hrmpf, blushingly I must admit to being wrong (see that Vilhelm?). I'd rather use dubious though - doubtful sounds wrong in my ears. Don't know why. Might it be something american-brittish? (Grasping at straws here...).
Edit: Checked with my dictionary and I'd feel fine to keep to dubious. I feel that doubtful can be seen more as the outcome of the plan represented by the move, while dubious relates to the move itself. But they can be used synonumously.

Ya, dubious sounds better now that you mention it. I think it is also used a lot more in chess books compared to doubtful, never mind what NIC or Informator might say.
So yes, grasshopper ( ), 4.D/Qxd4 might be dubious/doubtful even though I think a lot of people would consider it just as natural as 4.Nxd4.

with 'is the best' I mean its a start of a great game, Im not meaning that its in theory the best move (which is Pxd4 ofcourse)
Like the ?! says, its doubtful.

You people sure are a fun lot. And I'm, paradoxically (or ironically) enough, contextually included. Well.. I can live with that. No hay problema.
I think that 1. X! Y! 2. Z! x! 3. y! z! is a very exciting option indeed...

And in Swedish:
King = Kung = K
Queen = Dam (Drottning) = D
Rook = Torn = T
Knight = Springare = S
Bishop = Löpare = L
pawn = bonde
More like Dutch than English. The word kung also has the longer form konung.

Hi Muldaaa,
German is a germanian languague, too By the way, the German notation is quite similar to the Swedish.
K = König, D = Dame, T = Turm, L = Läufer, S = Springer, B = Bauer (pawn)
We call the knight also "Pferd" what is similar to the Dutch "paard".

The Scandinavian defence (1. e4 d5) is not very common, is it?

The Scandinavian is not bad, if you play it correctly! Yes, White will have more space, but Black stands solid. You just wait for White to make a mistake, then you take the control, and run him over!
Very simple. really!

But if White knows the theory, he won't make a mistake...
